Many people may not realise hypnosis therapy is nothing in comparison to stage hypnosis. Stage hypnosis for example, is purely for entertainment purposes and nothing else. Whilst stage hypnosis does also perform the task of bringing hypnosis to the general public, it has absolutely no therapy component to it (except maybe the stress reduction given to the audience through all of the laughter at the show).

Hypnosis therapy, or clinical hypnotherapy as it is often known, is the therapeutic application of hypnosis in order to adjust the “mental programming” of an individual that has a problem. Pretty soon, having practiced more and more, the person can jump in the car and without much conscious thought drive from point a to point B. Meanwhile, the subconscious mind has learned from all the rehearsal how to do the bulk of the driving for you.

Depending on the issue, but hypnotherapist may employ different techniques that will allow you to vastly improve the relationship you have with your own subconscious mind. Whilst some people will profess that hypnosis is not mind control, I like to believe that it allows an individual control of their own mind. If a hypnotherapist provides suggestions that are negative and something that you would not consciously accept, then your subconscious mind will reject those suggestions due to protection mechanisms that your mind has.

Hypnosis therapy is completely safe and natural. Occasionally you may hear on the news of individuals who have delivered negative suggestions in hypnosis and find themselves in quite a legal predicament. These individuals, are often untrained, do not understand how hypnosis truly works, and most often not qualified clinical hypnotherapists.
